New Year's Greeting
It was sunny on New Year's morning, so I took pics of the first sunrise.
I was planning to go to the shrine with a lookout point, but I had to look for another shooting place because of my bike trouble.
The most important thing in shooting the rising sun is setting the camera at least 5 minutes before sunrise; I parked my bike by a hillside near my family cemetery.
There was already one person before I took my camera.
Two more people stopped by the slope to enjoy the first sunrise of this year.
They also murmured, "It would be perfect without these trees."
The Reason for watching the Sunrise on January 1st
In Japan, the sunrise on January 1st is called "Goraikou," the most spiritual sunrise of the year.
Initially, watching Goraikou was a ritual, not a leisure activity.
AI technology for photo editing has been developing; we can erase obstacles in our photos with certain apps.
For some people, the trees in my picture might be obstacles to be erased, but not for me.
Even though it's not a good photoshoot, WATCHING Goraikou is the most important including the circumstances.
The trees in my picture taught me not to seek good photoshoots too far.
Just watch it and pray, worry less about pictures.
