Growing Baby Blue Eyes
Recently, I have enjoyed watching Baby Blue Eyes in Hitachinaka Seaside Park.
Its blossom completely synchronizes with the clear sky, which fascinates me.
I visited Hitachinaka Seaside Park for the pics of baby blue eyes, but this year, I had a different impression while seeing little blue flowers.
I will enjoy them at home, too!
This year, I had appointments during the high time of baby blue eyes, so I photographed them in early season.
I heard other visitors mumbling, "It's not what I know."

I enjoyed the baby blue eyes blossoms as they were, but I also wanted to share them with my family anytime.
I left the park with a small pot of baby blue eyes.

Baby blue eyes seeds are also available at souvenir shops, costing 650 yen.
I chose a small pot costing 250 yen instead.

The most sensitive plant I have ever grown
To see baby blue eyes is one thing, and to grow another.
I accidentally split my potted baby blue eyes into stems, which was fatal to them.

The split baby blue eyes got weaker and weaker, and at last they were ruined by slugs.
I learned later that trimming dead leaves often also weakened them.

Most plants, including bouquet flowers and aquatic plants, tend to revive after trimming dead leaves.
On the other hand, baby blue eyes sacrifice parts of their leaves to grow in total.
That gave me a new perspective on growing plants!
Of course, I gave it another try.

I bought another baby blue eyes pot for 158 yen from a hardware center nearby.
I chose a larger flower box with a stem to prevent slugs this time.

The beginning of the end
Observing baby blue eyes has become one of my morning routines in recent weeks.
Time flies extremely fast while seeing them with my magnified glass.
I bought 3 pots of baby blue eyes, and learned when to water them.
I water them about once every 4 days, unless it rains, when I find their stems falling.
I move their boxes to my plant shelf when the weather report says it'll be stormy tomorrow.
I understand the baby blue eyes at home will never bloom again next year, nor will they at gardens and parks.
I've started to think twice about Baby Blue Eyes viewing next year.
I can't call the beginning of the end of Baby Blue Eyes Instagramatic once I grow them.
