PHP2Shell Might Turn the Table?
My blog post for the first time in 4 months.
To be frank, I was planning to change my blog platform.
The main reason is that Blogger looks a bit obsolete.
PHP Vulnerabilities Caused a Static Website Reevaluation
I won’t remember October 21, when so many websites and apps got suspended due to PHP2Shell.
Back then, I started my very first website in May 2003; I made it with the IBM's website building software.
I uploaded my website documents to the file server with a free FTP app.
I uploaded my website files to the server using a free FTP app.
I enjoyed running this type of static website, like my profile page.

But the reason I choose Blogger for my international blog is a bit different: it's free with no ads.
The budget is limited; I pay about 20,000 yen in total for my WordPress blog (domain and server subscription, security plugins, etc.), so Blogger suits my blogging circumstances even though it has poor reviews.
Funny that I didn't get stressed to hear this tech news because I can keep on blogging during server maintenance period on WordPress.

Dynamic Websites' Defects
Until this tech disaster, I'd thought the newer system was better.
That doesn't mean older systems are useless; they're at least not ugly.
I recognized I'd been looking for something cool in newer products and systems.
I really need to change my perspective on technology.

Availability / Stability Is the Key
Availability / Stability Is the Key
PHP2Shell issues also affeted digital payment for a while.
I heard some people couldn't use their smartphone payment apps.
I also found my Suica (JR East's mobile payment app) unavailable for a while.
When in emergency, classic analog technology is much more stable.
It might be weired for a computer teacher to recommend classic analog stuff, but it clear that digital technology works just in normal circumstances.
